My friend brought his original xbox over form Canada and plugged it into a Thai outlet not knowing it would kill the poor thing. We haven't found any one who sells power supplies here in Nakhon Sri Thammarat and ordering one online seems very expensive when international shipping is included.

So, my question is: Does any one know a reliable source to order an origianl xbox (not 360) power supply from? It would be far more convenient for him to have it shipped here but if that isn't an option picking up in person in Samui, Phuket or Had Yai is an option.

All tips appreciated!

i actually had mine refurbished and it works just fine. should cost somewhere around 500-900 baht depending on how fried it is. then, of course, you need to get a converter, too. they range from 250-2000. 250 is dicey, 1000+ is a sure thing. i had this done in bkk but perhaps someone is capable of the same in nst.

Thanks for your reply, Samsara. Where did you get it refurb'd?

I've seen dual-voltage power supplies for xbox online so we're hoping for one here. Failing that, a standard 220v power supply would do the trick.

May you try to call to Amorn. As far as I know they having an Outlet in Had Yai but maybe somewhere else.

Unfortunate the Website from Amorn is under Construction but the Phone No. is there: http://www.amorngroup.com/index2.asp#

Otherwise the Thai electronic shops mainly able to repair your burned one as samsara wrote. On your old one should be an Label with the Voltages and the electronic guys just rebuild one for 220 Volts!

Here at Samut Prakarn will be not any problems with that!

i had it done at saphan lek (china town) in bkk. went there seeking an original power supply but EVERYONE told me they were either sold out or never carried one to begin with (were talking like 30-40 venders!!). well, no, i take that back. one particularly grumpy old chinese woman told me 3900 baht but said it would take 3 days!!! so then one guy mentioned the possibility of repairing ("sam" in thai (like the #3 but with a rising tone i think) it and the rest is history. i had mine rebuilt for 110 V so not sure if you can rebuild for 220...and you should have no problem finding a decent converter in any decent sized town.
