Ian_B Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) Now that the dust has settled and all the AAA games are out, here's my pick of games of the year: PS3 - Uncharted: Drakes Fortune - Best graphics on any console and the best mix of platforming and shooting yet. A game that would be very tough to do on 360 seamlessly 360 - Bioshock - Spiritual Sequel to the classic System Shock games. FANTASTIC Atmosphere Wii - Super Mario Galaxy - Pure FUN DS - Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Would love the next Zelda on the Wii to use the same control scheme PSP - Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters - An AAA PS2 game shrunk to PSP Not picked a PC game as my PC is 2+ years old now and I rarely play PC games these days Edited November 26, 2007 by Ian_B
Firefoxx Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 PC... probably, as a whole, Orange Box. Or Bioshock.
quiksilva Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Hmm I have yet to play Bioshock I can feel another purchase coming my way
Mozikillah Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 PC - Call of Duty 4 & Orange Box definitely NOT Crysis
Turok Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Fellas: DS: Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass Wii: Have to go with Super Mario Galaxy with Metroid Prime 3 a close second. As for music games: A no brainer here - Guitar Hero 3 on any console. The Wii wireless guitar is sweet. Can't vote for the other consoles as I do not own. Turok
Etrigan Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Call of Duty 4. The most intense game ever!
Jockstar Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Orange Box. Or Bioshock. 2 top games especially Bioshock. Assassins Creed is also very good.
sweetchariot Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Call of Duty 4. The most intense game ever! Not bought any PC games since I've been here, but was thinking about buying CoD4. Could you get away with a 'cheaper' version, or would you recommend the 'more expensive' version?
Etrigan Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 sweetchariot - Its a ps3 version so I'm not sure which PC version is which! FPS has always been my favourite genre, but COD4 establishes a new benchmark. Get it.

Yes, I was trying to be subtle and not get the thread shut down. I will try the 'cheaper' version then and see how I get on. Thanks. Edit: due to slight misunderstanding of previous post. tingtong Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I am a bit wierd, so my favourite of the year is Ufo:Extraterrestrials. I loved X-com: Ufo defense ( or Ufo: Enemy Unknown in some place) from '93, and since. Excellent old school turn based startegy game, with great story line. Finally this year we have a close remake, which is even better after installing some of the mods. Sure it isnt a FPS, but I love it anyway.
