Form Vaf1 Visa Type?

I'm applying for a visa for my thai girlfriends mother to come visit us in the UK next year and I'm not sure what sort of visa I need to apply for of the form VAF1, I assume Family visit.

I asked the same question a month or 2 back and was told just apply for a "visitor" visa not a "family visitor" but now thev'e introduced a new form a standard "visitor" visa is no longer a choice.

I have that from, it's the question "Which type of Visitor Visa are you applying for?" I assume its family visit, If I put this, are there any implications that differ from say a tourist visa for example?

If refused, a family visit application carries the right of appeal, which a "normal" visit visa application doesn't.
