November 30, 200718 yr So here is the $64,000 question. How important is football to your life? If your team looses how long do you mope about it? Does it affect your mood? Does a loss or a win change your plans for the evening? Are you the same person out with mates when you loose? My take on it is: As soon as I get up I check my e-mails then I look at my clubs website to check for any news. Then I check out the Sky Sports football website for all the other footy news (happy this morning as I found out that Mark Shwarzer has injured his hand and won't be in goal for Boro on Saturday..he he) Then I land on the TV football page....so its about an hours worth of reading before I do ANYTHING else...inluding activities that revolve around my Wife and Dog I very rarely miss a game, (about 2 a year)even if it means forgoing a nights sleep, When I get back to the UK one of my priorities is getting too see as many live games as I can. Now its bluddy obvious that if we loose I get down.....but not for long.......I try and look at it from the team's point of view, they should be feeling a lot worse than me, so as there is nothing I can do about it I try and forget it, and think about the next game and what the Manager is going to do to get us a win !! Then of course I talk to my Son's who are both Reading fans and we decide what should be done.......we are the management and of course we know far more that Mr.C I suppose that about 2 hours a day I think about football. one of those about my team. HOWEVER...if we land in the relegation zone then I would be worrying about things a great deal more, the thought of relegation is unthinkable, but someones gotta go. IF we were to be relegated I just don't know what I would do, I would be beside myself with greif, and would seriously affect my mood for months, I would probably need medication and counselling to get over it. Bill Shankly famously said "Some people think that football is a matter of life and death....but its more important than that" Correct me if I am mistaken (I often am) but here is my opinion about how some of you are feeling right now: Mr.B. is walking around grinning like a Cheshire cat...with good reason "Cloud 9-never had it so good" Chon has now come to terms that his team are going to scrape a top ten finish and pray for a better time next year Scouse is hoping for a miracle ..... HH is a happy Hammer as he knows he does not have to go through the anquish of last year, but wants more Seapok reckons he's still in with a chance of more glory Mr.T, well he is worried about loosing the title Miggy thinks Arsenal will win it, but is afraid they won't Whats your take?
November 30, 200718 yr I think too mut about footbon, according to Mrs Toad. I'll admit to being a football tragic. First thing I do every morning is check the latest news on BBC and then onto The Guardina and a few other websites. Of course I have my two teams, both who I think will win the title this year. Torquay for the Non League Double and Man Utd for the Premiership and the Champions League I agree with all of your points TP, but I hate it whe my trsm loses, although I don't get so upset these days. Well, looking forward to the weekend and what it brings on the football front.
November 30, 200718 yr How Much Time Do You Spend Thinking About Football?, Does The Result affect your mood? at least several seconds every day when i see a football thread in Thai Visa and the result does indeed affect my mood. but how it affects my mood is my secret
November 30, 200718 yr Only when TV's on, game's on, see TV ppl talk about it, get the paper in the morning and there it is - right in sport front page, those are times I think about soccer. Affect my mood? Not really, only during the game. I don't bring it back to bedroom with me! Too busy there to think about soccer Good fun to watch it with friends, it's just .. fun. How I like it

How I like it i love football ,but it does'nt rule or ruin my life ,if my team win lose or draw ,makes no difference as long as i enjoyed the game ,if you believe that then .......
November 30, 200718 yr If your team looses how long do you mope about it? Until about the 6th pint and then i've forgotten all about itDoes it affect your mood? Absolutely, it's taken a while but now the Mrs understands. I haven't got a cob on with her Does a loss or a win change your plans for the evening? No Are you the same person out with mates when you loose? The banter carries on no matter what Mr.B. is walking around grinning like a Cheshire cat I didn't think anybody had noticed I think about football waaaaay too much really. And although Man City are my number one priority, i spend alot of time looking at what other teams are upto. As the old saying goes, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer
November 30, 200718 yr How important is football to your life? My weekends revolve around either playing it or watching it. If your team looses how long do you mope about it? I don't mind as much if my team loses to a better team if the performance is good. But playing <deleted> and losing to inferior opposition is very annoying. Does it affect your mood? A win makes the weekend and Monday mornings that little bit sweeter. Does a loss or a win change your plans for the evening? No, I usually get pissed regardless of the score. Are you the same person out with mates when you loose? I'll be pissed off for about 30 mins or so but then the enjoyment of wallowing in self pity kicks in.

Im only afraid to say it ...... just in case I jinx the team I have full confidence remember before season started when everyone was talking about how Arsenal dont stand a chance this season? how much time do i spend hmmmm... I dont spend too much time reading the sites... I check arsenal site mainly..... sometime skysports, the odd occasion UEFA but not a great deal. other than that I just glance /skim through the thaivisa footie forum.....
