Faster Net In Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi I am still unable to get the net after 4 months due to no telephone number available....Will I still need a telephone number if I apply to the Singapore net service in Phuket?

Any other option, what about a satalite link?

Cheers

Your options for tel line free internet are.

GPRS.. slow but easy and cheap.. use your mobile.

IPStar.. Was expensive (dont know about now) service wasnt great and not that fast.. May have changed.. Large dish needed, equipment fees and installs.

CAT wireless system.. Monthly was 590 (keeps changing) The cheap hardware (4k) works slowish (100 - 150kbps) but does work for basic net. The better hardware that runs CDMA 2000 (the aircard or the new USB card) at 10 - 12k for hardware runs much faster.. Was clocking 400 - 600 kbps for people but I did hear it may be getting a bit slower.

Definitely CAT is the way to go if you are in service range and cant get a phone line.
