New Program Installed !

Featured Replies

Hi All

I’m in the process of doing a clean reinstall of XP Pro.

There is this “feature” that highlights “New program installed” on the start menu.

This is getting a bit annoying as there are many highlights of the all the “new” programs I’m reinstalling. :o

I did somehow manage to turn this “feature” off on my previous install but that was some years ago and I can’t remember how it was done.

Can any one tell me how to turn this off so I don’t get any more highlighted ‘new programs installed”

Thank y’all

D.D. :D

Right click on Start and select properties. Then choose Start Menu > Customize then Advanced. Unselect "Highlight newly installed programs"

Thanks “Tywais” that did the job.
