Featured Replies

just reading through the post on here about family permits and can quite find the answer im looking for.

can a uk citizen bring his thai wife to the uk using a eea family permit?

my gf has just been refused a 6 month tourist visa not having enough reason to return to thailand so we plan to marry soon and try for the permit. i would try for a settlement visa but i dont have the funds right now.

In general, not as a UK citizen. He would have to use the privileges of, say, an Irish or French citizen, if he has them. However, the privileges of a UK citizen abroad in the EEA generally transfer to the UK on his return to the UK - a precedent established for Surinder Singh. So, if you got a decent job in Ireland, you could take her there.
