Work Visa Question

hi,

my girlfriend is currently in england on a student visa and is studying english, but she has also applied for a few jobs which are full time.

she has been given a interview date on 13th december which is a good job and dont really want to pass this up, is it possible to change a student visa to work permit in england?

Does the prospective employer know that he will have to apply for a work permit for her before she can even think about a WP visa? To get that he will have to prove extensively that there is no local applicant with the skills necessary to do the job.

If your girlfriend's prospective employer were to obtain a work permit on her behalf, she would not be able to switch from student to work permit holder unless she has obtained a degree-standard qualification in the UK. Instead, once the work permit is issued, she would have to return to Thailand and apply for another visa from the British embassy there.
