How To Use My Mobile Phone On My Trip To Uk, Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi

I shall shortly be going on a trip to Uk.

I would like to use my mobile phone and its number when I am there.

I have a mobile phone, nothing special bought in Thailand a couple of years ago.

A sim card from 1 2 call.

I tried last time and it did not work.

How can I arrange for my phone to work.

thanks in advance for any info

regards

Call 1175 from your mobile and ask to be registered for international roaming. Note that you will pay 55 baht/min to make and receieve internaitonal calls and ~ 79 baht/min. to make local calls. Maybe better to get a pre-paid SIM in the U.K.?

Yep ^^^ that should do it :o

BUT, as noted above, calls are mind-bendingly expensive, Ok for emergencies but not a lot else.

Get a pre-pay and tell everyone the number then THEY are picking up the international call not you, should reduce the number of times it rings :D

Alternatively, re-direct your Thai phone to the UK number, then your friends will pay a local rate and YOU pick up the cost of the IDD call.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Enable IR (international roaming) using *125*1#

Whilst abroad making calls is possible by using *131*country code area code phone number # send

Sending text messages by using +country code area code phone number.

But it's not going to be cheap...
