4t Synthetic Motor Oil

Featured Replies

I used to be able to get Synthetic motor oil for my 4 stroke motor cycle but the shop doesn't carry it any more. I used semi synthetic last time, but I would prefer the good stuff.

Does anybody know where to get some in Chonburi province?

Hi I brought 7 x 1L bottles of Mobil 1 racing 4T 15w50 from europe but I don't use it in my bike.If you are interested give me a pm.

what kind of bike do you have ? using fully syntehetic is a waste of money for road use and it can actually cause clutch slip.

Semi synthetic is fine, an oil change is so cheap in thailand i would just do it more frequently, every 1000-2000 kms

In theory you should find Shell Advance Ultra at your neighborhood Shell Station, if not ask them to order some. Shell For sure they will have the two-stroke version in the black bottle.

As for synthetic being a waste of money, on the contrary semi-synthetic is the waste. It is neither fish nor foul. Has the name but none of the benefits. All about motorcycle oils

Thanks for the replies. I was gone for a while and not just ignoring the thread.

I have never had clutch slip in the four years I have owned the bike (CBR150) and it has lived its life on synthetic. I do drive it hard occasionally, but I have backed off the throttle for the last year; something to do with the pillion rider who also makes my breakfast.

I will ask the guys at Shell, I think I have an old bottle hanging about.

I was always curious about semi-synthetic, they never mention how synthetic it is. I have some in the bike right now, because I couldn't find the good stuff

Since I've used synthetic there has been noticeable clutch slip. Will be switching to semi synth. next Oil Change...

Are you using car synthetic? It has friction modifiers which are causing the clutch to slip.

Use bike synthetic Shell Advance Ultra or truck Shell Rimula Ultra.

Thats a good question. The mechanics at Panich Plaza did the oil change and I asked for synthetic. Maybe they bunged in car synthetic???

I'm getting another oil change soon, nearly at 2000 km now.
