Im going to Cambodia for a few days hailand next week, ive been told I dont need a visa or they will just give me one on the spot. Is this true or not?

Visa

One month tourist visa can be obtained either upon arrival at Phnom Penh/Siem Reap International Airport or at overland border checkpoints between Cambodia and Lao PDR, Cambodia and Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam . The Visa Fee is US$20 plus two recent passport-sized photos.

Visa can be issued at the Royal Embassy in Canberra, Australia. Please refer to the following link: Visaregulation

e-visa will also be available online effective from 17 April 2006. To apply for an e-visa, an applicant needs to access the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia at http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/ get his/her passport and credit card information ready and follow the steps shown on the website.
