It was reported in the Sueng Phung News, that for the second year in a row Santa visited this small village in the middle of North East Thailand. There was no explanation of why Santa has picked this village to visit, but since this was the second year in a row the villagers are beginning to suspect it may be an annual event. Santa first arrived around 06:00 when he landed his sleigh on a villager's roof. He then gave presents out at that residence. He left his sleigh and reindeer on their roof and then walked through the village handing out candy to all the boys and girls of every age in the village. At 08:00 he and his reindeer took off from the roof and it is rumored they were on their way to Canada. All the villagers were happy to see Santa and hope he returns next year.

Santa was able to make a quick stop in a small village east of Huairat on Christmas Eve as the village children were enjoying a party with Soda pop, ice cream and cookies. Old St Nick had a small pouch of money for each child.
