There is this guy selling them at Sukhumvit. He has dark hair and brown/dark eyes. Easy to recognize.

Also, I think his brother sells watches too, in Pat Pong area. Also dark haired with brown/dark eyes.

Sorry pal, I couldnt resist being silly.

Honestly, I have been some years in BKK now, but I have never heard about a good replica watch seller.

I believe you find these guys all over. Normally on the streets. Try of course to avoid the tourist areas (as Sukhumvit and Patpong) since they will try to get much more money out of you.

You can find a lot of them in the stalls outside some of the big shopping malls. Normally the Shopping malls outside downtown.

Try outside Central Ladprao, The Mall Bangkapi. Also in Srinakarin area.

There are loads of mobile phone resellers in MBK. That said, a high percentage, most I think, of the phones you get there are reconditioned (used) phones. Sure they look brand new and the seller might say they are new, but even though he may honestly believe that and the phone is still in shrink wrap, it isn't a new phone. Most sellers, after you pay, will break the phone out of its packaging there and demonstrate that it works to you. I have bought several phones there over the years, but I got them on the assumption it wasn't a new product. Most but not all of the phones have been fine. I did get one for a friend and it turned out that the charging port for the phone would not connect properly to the charger. I have heard many similar stories of assorted issues. Returns will be problematic unless you have a preexisting relationship with the seller. If the seller thinks you are just passing through, the odds are stacked against you of getting a good deal.

Depends which store / dealer you buy from. Never had that problem buying NEW phones from MBK. Open the box yourself if you are not sure. Distributor warranties here in Thailand require the store to place a warranty sticker on the phone and usually the battery.

I would recommend MBK for buying phones - The locals buy there so you know its fair value aslong as u buy from some of the larger reputable dealers. Buy where the locals are buying is usually good idea of reputation and value.

Hi there Whitethai,

My friend who is Thai took me to this IT Centre (i think it's called Pantip) near to Platinum mall. He said this is also one of the cheapest places for anything electronic.

I'm not sure so sure about replica watches, but I hope you find what you're looking for.

Not having the various connectors fit doesn't mean that the phone itself is not new. One of the tricks they use is, they take the original phone and remove all the brand name components, such as the battery and batter charger, and replace it with a really cheap Chinese copy. Then they sell the original brand name charger on the side for extra profit. I've had this occur with cell phones, playstations, xbox, and nintendo ds. :o

Like I said if you know where to shop in MBK it is 110% safe as 80% of the locals buy there also. The problem you have is those not too streetwise / in the know tourists buying by pointing to the phone they want in the glass cabinet on display (Which are all refurbs / second hand) and handing over cash.

Keep your wits about you and buy at the more respected dealers in MBK you will save yourself a few baht over anywhere else.

I find many of the vendors there are chancers and will overcharge foreigners with impunity as the place is frequented by tourists mainly. When I tried to return the Samsung I mentioned above they asked me for 500THB to replace it. I refused and threatened to go to the Police and only then was I given another replacement phone free of charge. They refused me a cash refund altogether. Not acceptable behaviour in the modern World I am afraid. Another area where Thailand is woefully behind the West - Consumer rights and protection, however, I digress.

Well Victor what can I say as to be expected from you at least you are consistent. Always look on the bright side.......I really don't know why u stay in this country anymore it obviously does not agree with u!

With regard to the Playstations, xbox, nintendo ds chargers they do this so it is 240v not 110v original that is supplied with the product not because of anything untoward. so you can plug it straight in and play on the thai voltage system without an adaptor. If you ask them for the original 110v adaptor they will give u it and take back the 240v adaptor no questions asked!
