After having taken friends to see the dancing fountains near Emporium twice without any luck I wonder whether they still do the dance. We waited at the scheduled time for half an hour (from 19:00 till 19:30) and nothing happened. Anybody seen it lately?

its hardly worth the trip to see the "dancing fountains" ( three or four smallish fountains and some coloured lights ) .... you may actually have seen the show but just not noticed it ... thats how uninspiring it is.

however , parklife there at dusk is interesting and a walk around the park can be rewarding taking in the well attended aerobic dancing class , the tai chi class , the joggers of all ages , sizes and abilities who do the circuit , the thai courting couples ( secretaries with middle management types , maid types with driver types , love struck doolally western men with scheming upper sukhumvit beauties) as they share quality after work time together on the benches there , the hardcase dedicated overkill falangs who power-exercise and super - jog in full power-exercising and super - jogging workout clothes to the great amusement of all and the star attraction .... the heavily made up , busty and braless , brazen thai baglady who chats to all and sundry near the entrances.

forget the fountains , its a people watchers paradise there.

If you are visiting the Dancing Fountain outside the Queen's Park be advised not to litter as there are several Policemen that hang around with the sole purpose of catching Western foreigners dropping cigarette butts. One will even follow you on a mountain bike if you are smoking in the hope you will drop it.

Second this, I was nailed 2-3 years ago. This must be one of the most desired postings for tessakit.

Well, stayed there quite long and, yes, observed the park life (which was okay for my friends). No scammers, no police. But then, I am utterly uninteresting to such types (hope it stays that way). @ alexth: tell, did they give you a receipt? :o
