Medical Insurance For A Thai

Featured Replies

I'm looking for affordable medical insurance for my missus (Thai lady). Anything that I have found on the www seems to be aimed at ex-pats, with prices to match. She doesn't really need the extent of cover that the ex-pat policies tend to give - hardly ever travels outside of Thailand, for instance.

She currently has personal accident insurance through IAG but this expires in a couple of weeks time. If I can find a way of adding on health / medical insurance affordably then I will do it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

tell your mrs to look for thai pra kan che wit.

thats what my wife has, tell her not to take the bells and whistles package, just the bare minimum.

too many of these companies will try and talk your wife into taking out life insurance, which she doesnt need.

i also believe the scb bank is offering similair packages.

pra kan che wit is Thai for 'Life nsurance' - I think "doctormann" just wants low cost medical insurance.

Several Thai's from my office have cover from BupaThailand, seems very good from the feedback I've had.

What 'expatlinkthai' says is correct, for a family BUPA will offer a 10% discount and we shall be happy to act as your Brokers - however, please look at the Thai Visa plans and 'like for like' they will have lower premiums.
