hi friends, can anyone recommend a hosting company that i can set up a decent virtual account on using my American creditcards to start the account? i am trying to avoid setting this up in Thailand as there are some concerns about any website business related possibly being hit w/ a hefty fee according to my business partner if a certain law goes into effect... our main concern is surfers in se asia being able to load the pages fast, can anyone recommend hosting outfits that would be peered close to thailand so things would be nice and speedy? a vhost would be perfect, any recommendations would be great. thx in advance friends..!

The best thing to have a server in or near the country you're targeting.

Nicheserver is according to our friend in the Netherlands (although whois says in Denmark). They look like an ordinary reseller. Even when they have their own servers in the Netherlands, remember

that when using speednet I get the lowest download speed results from that area.

Please tell us more about this 'law' which will affect users on Thai servers ....

thx for your reply friend. yes, i already have a dedicated box for another project in Amsterdam and the speeds from there to Thailand are absolutely abysmal. the 'law' or new ordinance was mentioned by a friend of mine who runs a tour company out of Phuket and has a website here, i might have misunderstood and it had more to do w/ domains that operate business using the .co.th TLD? not sure... regardless, any recommendations for decent vhost accounts that are fast to Thailand locale would be more welcome friends, tia..!
