Are there many ways of arranging this?

Which is the cheapest / most efficient way of setting up your website so that people can buy stuff from it?

Google Checkout. No setup fees, no monthly fees, 2% on transactions--is there anything that can match that? Integration ranges from the very easiest (a simple cut and paste into your web) to having an arsenal of powerful API's on tap. Then when you see the ease of use and security awarded to the end user, you'll see Google has a real winner.

Google Checkout only accept US and UK based merchants.

2checkout.com and paypal.com is very easy.

Paypal is easy, but a bit of a ripoff if you want to withdraw funds in Thai baht because they use offshore exchange rates. Reasonable if you are happy to withdraw your proceeds overseas, though.

I have paypal (Thai based with Thai verified Visa card), never any problems. However mainly use it for paying stuff, as recieving cash on your Thai bank account is bloody expensive!

Currently I also use Paysbuy.

Works very well since Thai based. They charge a flat fee of 3.75%, which is very reasonable since the Visa/Mastercard fee is already 2.7 something%.

Initial low limits in withdrawing to your Thai bank account, but can be raised very quickly after they locally verify your identity!

Thai based online payment solutions seem to come and go a lot .. and some had problems.

How long have these guys been around? Do you know who is backing them?

Actually the visa and mastercard fee is no where near 2.7%, its actually I believe its somewhere around 0.8-1.4%. This is what the bank pays to the credit card company, the difference is the profit of the bank. I had a merchant account with my bank and was only paying 1.9% on all credit card transactions. Even Paypal offers lower rates then the 2.7% mentioned so 3.75% is not a very good deal.
