Anyone know where in Phuket I can refill a laser toner cartridge, like, quick? Samsung is the brand.

All shops are telling me they have to order a new one from BKK.

Tks.

I'm looking for a toner refill place, too.

If you're willing to do it yourself, Office Depot (on the bottom floor of Central) usually has toner refill kits. They include a modified soldering iron for burning a hole in the case, plus a plastic container of toner.

I´m a Brother (& other Brands) dealer with a shop in Germany.

My experience is you have to change the complete toner-unit if the toner is empty.

The empty toner is also a sign to replace the drum (if not longlife) and some other mechanical parts of the the printing unit, except your printer has a separate toner-cartridge and a long-life-drum like printers of recent date.

These "all-in-one-printing-units" for Laser-Printer are made for change complete and not for refill - if you refill and the toner does not match exactly with the original toner, you will have problems with your prints and also it´s possible the printing unit will get quite loud - the same problem I had with complete but not genuine printing-units.

If you notwithstanding want to try to refill the toner and get some toner on your cloths never try to remove with warm water, only try to remove cold....and good luck.

P.S.:

For my brother MFC-240C (Ink) I use cartrigdes from an other brand without any problems, but these printers are made for change only the ink and not the whole printing-units like Laser-Printers need.

I just come back from this mystical shop - yes they refill laser-toner-cartridges - for Samsung they have only one type of refill-toner in stock, so they know about the different types of toner :D , but the refill is THB 50,- + 900,- = THB 950,- :D (that´s what they told me).

For ink-cartridges the have different refill-sets, but not for all brands (for example not for Brother) - I did´nt ask if they also refill single ink-cartridges without buy the set - may be this is THB 50,-.

Ok, Big C it is. New one is over 3k, so 950 is better.

Bagsida, thanks for your comment. I am aware of the fact that these laser drum kits are use once and buy another. I am risking it for the sake of urgency.

Sad they are so expensive. I can buy a new Samsung laser printer for 3500! With toner, albeit a smaller one.

It's amazing that you can buy a new printer for not much more than buying replacement cartridges. Last year I popped out to buy a multicolor cartridge for my rather basic old Cannon printer. I noticed that I could buy a 3-in-one brother for not much more than the Cannon replacement cartridge. Guess what I bought... ?

In Germany customers know about this kind of business already - a very special brand ist "Lexmark" :

Printer with "Starter-Toner" for about € 99,- and the replacement toner (which you will need soon) about € 70,-. (the prices are only examples).

To sell the printer is only the tool for can sell the expensive replacement-kits.

That´s why I prefer to sell Brother :

Laser with separate toner-cartridge and ink with 4 separate ink-cartridges.

Quick update. Went to BIG C and got the toner. 550 baht plus 450 baht to put it in and whatever else they have to do. Works like a charm.

But only Bhudda knows how long the drum will last. These babies are not meant to be refilled. cough cough.
