I plan to go to Thailand with the tourist visa, then extend it (summary 90 days) and back to Thailand. I am gonna go first time now, I read I need ticket to other country when I'm entering thai border. So i have some questions:

1. Do I really need back ticket to my country or ticket to other country (in the region)? I can have some cash in my pocket.

2. Which city in the region is the easiest to get new thai visa and which city is the best to spend New Year's Eve? :o

Why dont you apply for a double entry visa before leaving home? If you do you will not need an onward ticket when you return to Thailand after the initial 90 day stay.As for which border is best to cross it depends where you are staying in Thailand.....as long as you have a double entry visa just go to the nearest border and back in. News Years Eve......best city, i like Pattaya.....but its an individual choice i am sure there are people who will say Bangkok or elsewhere.

Sorry, I don't know visas' names - in this case I ment 'double entry visa' - it's why I wrote 90 days (with extension). And my question is: Do I need ticket to other country (back or somewhere else) in moment when I entry Thailand? I'm asking that because I read somewhere I need it (for example buy ticket in my country to Bangkok + additional (ex. Singapore)).

New Year's Eve: which city, but not in Thailand. I'd like to do two things: get new visa and spend New Year there :o

If you have a double entry visa you will recieve 60 day stay upon arrival which can be extended by 30 days at Thai Immigration in Thailand....after which you must cross a border to activate the second entry of your tourist visa....i.e you will recieve another 60 day stamp which it turn can be extended by 30 days at Thai Immigration once again. You do not need an onward ticket if you have a tourist visa. You only need an onward ticket if you arrive in Thailand without a tourist visa . Sorry cant help with where to spend News Years Eve outside Thailand.

Thanks a lot. Now I understand it little bit more. So I just need to buy ticket to Thailand and before get a 'double entry visa' from Thai embassy. And it will give me 180 days in Thailand (with extensions and crossing borders). And then I need to go to other country (ex. in region) to get new 'double entry visa' (if I wanna stay more in Thailand) - is it correct?

Yes that is correct a double entry will give you a total of 180 days stay in Thailand with 1 border crossing at the 90 day stage and 2 extensions within Thailand at the 60 day and 150 day stage (1900 baht per extension) .......after this Penang in Malaysia is probably your best bet for a new tourist double entry visa. Make sure your passport has 6 months left to run after whatever date your second entry into Thailand is........just to be on the safe side. :o
