Cannot Copy / Cut Files From New Hdd

Featured Replies

Successfully moved all files/folders to my new HDD so I could reformat the old hard disk. Now I want to put them back into the old HDD. But when I try to move them back from the new HDD, it says the file/folder is inaccessible. I tried dragging & dropping, right clicking, etc. to no avail. Are there any settings for the new HDD that I should configure first?

Cheers!

As far as I know not, but maybe you can try the "new hardware wizard" (or just restart your pc and see what it says)

May I also add that the duplicate file that it makes becomes corrupt and inaccessible as well. (BTW, pc is running on Win XP Pro)

Are you drives FAT32 or NTFS ??

I think they should be Matching to move files between them.

All my HDDs are NTFS

right click one of the folders you are having difficulty with select properties, security, advanced and make sure you have permissions as the owner of the folder and all files, if not take ownership.
