Hey guys,

Just a quick question. Is this getting people to do a language test before they come into the country going to come into effect any time soon?

From my understanding the applicant has to be at ESOL level 3 standard to understand the test, and doesn't have to have the qualification to take it if they feel their english is good enough already.

We've got ages to go until we're in the position to be taking the test as we're not even married yet (hurry up September 25th! :D ), but as the boy scouts say: "Always be prepared"

Thanking you in advance for your feedback.

The concept is still at the consultation stage. My guess is that it's bound to be inroduced, as otherwise the government wouldn't have bothered consulting on it. However, when this will be is anyone's guess. It appears from the consultation paper that the intial entry test is intended to be at a very basic level.

Scouse.
