Yes carrying (uncharacteristically) on with the original topic - not many people. Everyone seems to pop in and then wander off to other parts rather than hang around for a chat.

Can understand why here in Oz - blazing hot day in most parts, so many down to the beach, and excellent entertainment on the box with the opening run of the GP. A very ordinary (though entertaining enough) run it was, too.

I forgot all about the F1 - not really that interested in it prefer the MotoGP but things going fast around a racetrack will keep me interested

CB

sundays are often quiet in Bedlam

Yes, I suppose there are a few who have church and family get togethers etc organised for Sundays as well. Good point.

Yep, into the MotoGP as well - great stuff.

I thought i had been officially warned and thought that making me a mod was a case of "better with us than agin us" :D Turns out I didn't have a single warning against my name - felt slightly disappointed when I found out.

There are several mods who were warned before becoming mods - one of my favourites is to a mod who will not be named. The warning reason reads "talking <deleted> again - 3 days suspension"

As a member we are expected to abide by the rules, as a mod we are required to abide by the rules. In the heat of the moment sometimes we overstep the line and one of the other mods will send a "I think you need to rethink your post that I have removed from view".

In the main the mods are an interesting collection of people. All care about the forum which is why they devote the time to it. There is a lot of back of house work done by mods and more so by admin that mambers do not see or care about.

And the first rule of mods - what happens in the mod forum stays in the mod forum - no discussion ever outside.

CB

By the criteria mentioned/highlighted above....

CB, IJWT, Endure, why am I not a mod yet?

Yes, it's a great mystery to me why I haven't suggested it, especially after reading the nice things you've said about me here and there...

Well I certainly have busy Sundays with church and family get togethers etc. :o

Good for you Tigs! I used to enjoy the 'get together' part of it when I was a nipper, because my grandmother always used to prepare a magnificent Sunday lunch for the family. As a child, it was always the day to which I looked forward. The church bit was force-fed, so probably helped to put me off that part of things.

Ah what a shame you were force-fed. And a bigger shame that it put you off. I love our meetings (just finished our Monday night reading group) nothing is force-fed, we have open and participative discussions and an enjoyable time is had by all. No 'duty' attending, everyone is there because they want to be. I love it! I also speak on Bible subjects all over the North of Engand and Ireland (where I'm from). I have also had the pleasure of addressing audiences in France and Switzerland.

Well that's impressive - you must know your stuff. Would the Church be assisting with some of the expenses involved in these pilgrimages into Europe?

Switzerland, skiing. France, wining and dining. (After the readings/discussions, of course.)

Oh no! Ours is not that sort of church, I finance all of my own travellings. We do, however, get entertained when we visit these places - re, food and drink! :o

Maybe you get you to speak at the Union Society one day Tigs?

There's at least one or two religion-related debates per term.

Would that be a mass-debate. (It's okay, I know my way to the door.)

It's always a possibility.

It would be awash with youthful vigour!

Nicely spun Tigs - have you ever thought about a career in politics or journalism - you'd be a natural! :o

I suspect he would be an abject failure - something about his honesty, a characteristic generally lacking in both aforementioned occupations.

Well done DSK!

Wasn't it 'The Donz'? Cos we do have a 'DONZ' posting on the forum, the style is different though.

Hey let's not get this thread mixed up with one of those troll threads!

I'd had one warning before I was demoted to moddery - drunk in charge of the Report button :o

Similar to mine.

Posting when pissed and talking <deleted>. :D :D

I have had 2 warnings, first for making posts colourful......

2nd for using large fonts too much.

Ah well, guess I have to be a black lemming.

It brings many questions to mind (but I can't ask them 5555). Then again, your posts are starting to look nicely compliant with the requirements of our fellow conservative bedlamites.

Yes it's Bedlam in here. (But I think you will find you are in room no. 238 of the Missing Inmates ward.)

  • Author

Thank goodness for that, although I have just moved to room 240.
