Hi,

I am marrying my fiancee in July and i'd like to get a spouse visa so she can come live with me in the UK. Can you tell me what documents i need to prepare.. Or what evidence i need for the embassy in Bangkok etc etc (I am not familier with getting any type of visa), I don't really have much to prove we've known each other for a long time, Other then about 4 years worth of passport stamps. And some photos of us together,

At the moment i am living with my parents in the UK.. Do you think that will cause a major problem for getting the visa? I can always move out and then start to rent my own place but then that would hit the finances a little, I could still afford it but i don't think i could afford to visit thailand then as i send my fiancee money every month to pay her and her families bills, So if i rent my own pad then that's a hefty chunk out of my monthly wages, I was thinking of renting a place maybe a couple of month before she arrived, But i will need evidence of where i live and my outgoing bills won't i for the spouse visa..? How long would i need to prove that i'd lived there for?

Also if she gets a spouse visa then is she allowed to work in the UK?

Can you give me any advice on what would be the best thing to do?

Thank you. :o

The Immigration Rules are quite explict. You have to show that you have met, that, in this case, you are married, that there is an adequacy of maintenance and accommodation, and that you intend to live together permanently.

I wouldn't worry that you're staying at your folks' place, as third party sponsorship is only an issue in relation to finances. However, your folks ahould provide evidence of their ability to fulfil their promise to house the two of you.
