Chinese New Year in Kalasin is lively

The Chinese New Year in Kalasin is lively, as large crowds of Thai-Chinese residents are worshipping the City Pillar Shrine of the northeastern province today (February 6th).

During the Chinese New Year, Thai people with Chinese background generally pay respect to the holy spirits to receive blessings. This year in Kalasin province, many Thai-Chinese descendants are paying respect to the City Pillar Shrine and wish for peace in the country, especially in the three southern border provinces. They also wish for the new government to bring prosperity to the nation.

The Kalasin Governor, Mr. Prachai Jitsutthipol (ประชา จิตสุทธิผล), warns the worshippers during the Chinese New Year to be careful of causing fire when they are lighting candles, and they should oversee the electric circuits at their residences.
