Uk documentary

Featured Replies

Are you interested in cooperating with the documentary we are currently making for Channel 4? With the working title of Travellers Tales, the film is about the experience of getting sick in long-haul destinations.

In the film young travellers - from gap year adventurers and career break volunteers, to students and expedition leaders - will tell their stories in their own words.

Perhaps...

they were bitten by a snake?

Have suspected tape worm?

Or even just the average roundworm, hook worm or filarial worm?

OR DO YOU KNOW A YOUNG BRITISH TRAVELLER CURRENTLY RECEIVING TREATMENT IN A CLINIC OR HOSPITAL ABROAD?

We are interested in a broad range of illnesses ranging from liver fluke to dengue fever and would be very interested to hear your story with a view to including it in the documentary. We are working with leading tropical medicine consultants and should you be interested in taking part, your experiences will be portrayed accurately and responsibly.

The documentary is part of a major new primetime series about travel for Channel 4, produced by RDF Television, one of the UK’s most successful independent production companies. We make documentaries for all the main channels ranging from the BAFTA award-winning ‘Faking It’ series for Channel 4 to the internationally acclaimed 'Century of the Self' series for the BBC. On a practical basis, the film will be made in as friendly and low-key a manner as possible.

If you know of anyone who would like to find out more, please feel free to pass this information on to him or her.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Catherine
