Hi,

My girlfriend currently lives in her flat in bangkok and works for a Financial Company. We have recently submitted a visa for her to visit me in England for 2 months. This application was refused as she only gets 10 days holiday and she has not asked the human resources department for leave.

We did not get an opportunity to advise the Visa Embassy that she has asked her manager for 2 months unpaid leave but she said no. Therefore my girlfriend was going to resign if she could get a visas and then get a new job on her return.

She will definately return to bangkok after 2 months as she has her flat and supports her family in her hometown.

My girlfriend has no leave until next year as we just spent 3 weeks together in Thailand. She took 10 days holiday.

Any advice on what we should do, would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Firstly you should post Here you will get a more qualitative response, rather than quantitative.

Well, this is good, shows she has a job and a place, goes toward reason to return.

visa for her to visit me in England for 2 months

Reasonable time line

.

Not the best move.

We did not get an opportunity to advise the Visa Embassy that she has asked her manager for 2 months unpaid leave but she said no. Therefore my girlfriend was going to resign if she could get a visas and then get a new job on her return.

Honesty would have been the best manoeuvre.

She will definately return to bangkok after 2 months as she has her flat and supports her family in her hometown.

She has to be able to show that, that on the balance of probabilities she will return, it is not the guiding rule, but it does matter, they might surmise that she can support her family better from the UK, however, if you can provide the necessary documentary evidence of a solid and sustainable relationship and that family are a, 'a reason to return', this should tick this box.

You haven't mentioned anything about longevity or anything regarding your visits or time together, this might help in advice.

Good Luck

I assume she thinks she will have no trouble finding another job, if she quits the present one. If not, I would be cautious about throwing away a job for a two-month holiday. I am sure you are ready to fill in the income loss, if necessary.
