Toshiba Air Con

Featured Replies

Anybody any views on Toshiba air condition units. Went to purchase a new aircon for our main bedroom in the local towns main electric shop and had a Mitsubishi slim in mind. The shop is now selling Toshiba air cons and the owner of shop has them on a special offer.

I know Toshiba make good televisions/note books.

Probably like all Japanese electrics the aircons will be good too???

I just put a Toshiba in my bedroom. It's definitely the quietest air conditioner that I've ever owned.

Toshiba and Carrier are partners in Asia. If you look at the www.toshiba.co.jp web site or do a google search you can see that they use the same factories in Thailand. Toshiba might not yet have Inverter split air conditioning in Thailand, but Carrier does sell some inverter models at this time. According to the Bangkok Post article "Toshiba Carrier (Thailand) plans to expand its capacity to 1.9 million air-conditioner units a year from 1.4 million at its four existing sites. " The last paragraph of this article states "The new models to be produced would be 50% more energy efficent than existing models." I have always figured it is not as important what a good air conditioner costs to purchase, it matters the most what an air conditioner costs to KEEP. Either way I would guess that Toshiba has good quality if Carrier - United Technologies is a parter in the Thailand operation.
