Hi all ,

Can anyone give me their thoughts on the problems my pregnant TGF and myself face with regards to her next UK visa. My girlfriend was in UK last year for five months until mid December when we returned to Thailand so that I could meet the family in Issan and her 2 year old daughter. Now I'm back home and while it was always our intention to apply for another visa about April things are now complicated by the forthcoming baby. What I'm to establish is can she get the required NHS help through to the birth or is the only UK option via the private sector as this looks like a financial no-no.

On the same theme which visa should she apply for as we're not yet married and if she cannot have the baby here she may have return to Udon for the birth and this would mean having to leave the UK for several months.

Would it be any better if I went out to Thailand to marry before making the visa application or no difference to the outcome and even though she's only a couple of months gone I think the time will go to quick and decisions need to be made.

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it especially from someone who's seen the same problem --- I'm no teenager but this is still my first kid -- don't wanna screw it up .

If it's a visit visa that your g/f will be applying for, she can't receive NHS treatment and may face difficulties getting on a flight back to Thailand after she's approximately 30 weeks gone.

Should you marry, it would only make a difference if your then-wife were to apply for a settlement visa. She could then receive NHS treatment in the UK, but, obviously, a settlement visa involves quite a degree of committment and she would still need to meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules.

Scouse.
