Community Motorbike Taxi Rider Discovers Body Hanging from Tree on a Pattaya Beach
Picture courtesy of Naewna A discovery was made on the morning of 26 July, after a local motorcycle taxi driver stumbled upon the body of a man hanging from a tree on a Pattaya Beach while searching for seashells. The incident occurred near Soi Phra Tamnak 5, on a quieter section of Beach. Pol. Lt. Pakorn Prakobnun, Deputy Investigation Officer at Pattaya City Police Station (Dongtan Substation), responded to the report and quickly dispatched officers and rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities found the body of a man, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, wearing a blue collared shirt and long jeans. There were no identification documents found on the deceased. The man had apparently used a nylon rope to hang himself from a branch of a seaside Indian almond tree. His body had reportedly been there for over three hours. At the base of the tree, officers discovered a plastic bottle of water and a pair of sandals, suggesting the man may have been at the location for some time before the incident. According to Mr. Sanit, a 54-year-old motorcycle taxi driver who made the discovery, he had been sitting nearby collecting seashells and small stones to decorate his fish tank. He said someone nearby shouted that a man was hanging from a tree. Sanit rushed to the scene and grabbed a pair of scissors from under his motorbike seat in hopes of helping, but found the man had already died. Authorities were then contacted. Police conducted a preliminary examination of the scene and confirmed no signs of assault or foul play. The case has been recorded and the body has been transported by rescue workers to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok for a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Police are now working to identify the deceased and notify any relatives, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the apparent suicide. Thai - Cambodia Conflict Second Army Region Warns of Possible Cambodian PHL-03 Missile Strikes

The Second Army Region has issued a public alert, warning of the potential threat posed by Cambodian-launched PHL-03 long-range missile systems capable of striking targets up to 130 kilometres away. In a post on its official Facebook page on 26 July, the army command confirmed that it is closely monitoring intelligence suggesting that Cambodia may deploy the powerful multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to target strategic locations, including military installations, in eastern Thailand. The PHL-03 is a Chinese-made artillery rocket system capable of delivering heavy firepower over a wide area. The warning emphasised that the system can fire multiple rockets simultaneously with considerable destructive capability, making it a threat to key defence positions and surrounding infrastructure. In response, the Thai military confirmed it has defence systems in place capable of intercepting and neutralising such missiles and that it is operating under the existing defence protocols outlined in its protection plans. Despite the reassurance, authorities urged civilians to remain alert and exercise caution. Key advice included: 1. Monitoring official news channels and emergency alerts. 2. Identifying safe shelter options, especially for those living near high-risk or strategic areas. 3. Keeping a safe distance from potential military targets. 4.
