Best Surgeons In Bangkok

I often have people ask me who are the best surgeons for certain specialties. Here is a partial list. These doctors are not only known in Thailand but are among the best in the world at what they do. For those of you who feel that medical care in Thailand does not match elsewhere, try meeting these doctors and learning about them. They are pioneers in their field and people come from all over the world to be treated by them. They are also the most expensive in Thailand. But you get what you pay for and with Thai prices these doctors are quite a steal. A doctor in Europe or North America would cost at least twice as much for the same quality.

1. Dr. Preecha Tiewtranon - cosmetic surgery (breast, sex reassignment)

People come from all over the world for his skills. He is certainly one of the best if not the best at what he does. All the top models, actresses, celebrities, go to him. Over 25 years experience. Find your favorite model and chances are she has been treated by Dr. Preecha.

2. Dr. Ekktet Chansue- LASIK surgery

Has performed more LASIK procedures than the top doctors in Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong put together. Over ten years experience. Over 50% of people in Thailand who have had LASIK pick Dr. Ekktet.

3. Dr. Orawan Kitchawengkul - laser skin surgery

Studied at Harvard, Japan, Switzerland, etc. Over 14 years experience. She has her own line of products.

If anyone knows of further Thai doctors who are pioneers or leaders in Asia. Please include them as well.

Perhaps heart surgeons or other plastic surgery specialists would be useful.

These doctors all have their own private clinics.

Dr. Preecha is at the Preecha institute.

Dr. Ekktet is at TRSC International LASIK Center

Dr. Orawan is at the Bangkok Skin Center

LASIK is a vision correction procedure for people who wear glasses or contact lenses. It uses a LASER to reshape the cornea so that glasses and contacts are no longer necessary. 8 million people have now had this procedure worldwide and it is perhaps now the most popular elective procedure available.

I have just had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder at Bumrungrad. My surgeon was Dr Panya Wongpatimachai MD. He is a great bloke and I think he has done a good job on my shoulder.

He didn't muck around either. I saw him, he told me to have an X-Ray followed by an MRI, and then he scheduled me in for surgery.

I was in overnight and started Physiotherapy two days after the operation. My sessions last for about an hour at a time.

I believe that shoulders are a very complex joint, and take the longest time to heel.

You could give him a go. I like him.

Yes, I would be interested in the best cosmetic surgeon for rhinoplasty (nose job) and other facial surgery. As for laser and non-laser skincare treatments, Dr. Setthawat Atthakorn has a nice website http://www.bangkoklaser.com/ I've visited his clinic at All Seaons Place and have seen photos of well-known actors and celebrities who have benefitted for Botox injections etc. I don't know if he's the best of the best - he may just be good at being famous.
