Is There A Way To Get Sms Tsunami Alearts?

USGS has a good email service and notification of an past earthquacke event, note that the service does not give tsunami alerts, that is only given by the local government at the event location. You can avoid false alerts and alarms by learning more about the information in the email, here are some hints.

Time of event and email notification is normally delayed 30-60 minutes.

Depth of the event, tsunami is regulary not triggered by events below 30 km.

Use the map location service of the event, high and massiv land in between the event and your location, should protect your location.

I'm not paranoid by any means, I'm just feel like i'm the last to know when something like this sizemic activity happens. I didn't even know about the one acoupple of days ago until after I saw it on the gazette "earthquake causes no panic"

the only way I knew about the one today was from a friend's facebook status update...
