GERMAN TOURIST VANISHES FOR FOUR DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS

A German tour member who went missing, presumed drowned while swimming, miraculously turned up at Suvarnabhumi Airport, after four days. Thankfully, he was safe and sound.

Sattahip-On 22 February 2008, Mrs. Suganya Chimmachui (42), a tourist guide with Go Vacation Tours who had recently brought a German tour group to visit Thailand, took one of her distraught fledglings, Mrs. Waltraid Schoepp (65) to the police station to report to Police Lieutenant Colonel Nipon Pomsanam, Sattahip Police Inspector, that her son, Mr. Warnecke Olaf Lothaur Udo, had been missing from Sunset Hotel Village, Na Jomtien since 11.00 am. on 21 February.

Mrs. Waltraid Schoepp believed her son had gone swimming, but as no word had been received of his whereabouts, she assumed that he must have drowned. The Water Rescue Team was duly sent out to search for the body of Mr. Warnecke, but after two days' search they were unable to find the supposed victim.

Deciding to widen the search, Police Colonel Supapee Boonkrong, the Superintendent of Sattahip Police, accordingly contacted all the local police stations, especially the tourist police to combine operations in the search for the missing German.

Then, on 26 February 2008, the police were notified that Mr. Warnecke had at last been located at Suvarnabhumi Airport. They then went to pick him up and took him back to his grateful mother at Sunset Hotel.

Police later questioned Mr. Warnecke who he said that he had been swimming quite far out and had come ashore on a quiet beach, but by this time it was night time and obviously dark. He had no idea where he was, so he walked around and asked people, but nobody could communicate with him, it being a somewhat remote location. Mr. Warnecke had 200 Euros with him, so he bought some food, clothes, and shoes as he only had his swimming trunks on. He then hired a taxi which apparently took him to the airport.

Mrs. Waltraid Schoepp was really pleased to have found her son again and was eternally grateful to the police for their efficiency in finding and returning her lost son.

So this guy comes to Pattaya with his mum, goes missing for several days and can't think up a better story than this?

Khun Nok Noi from the German Bar will give you the real story :o:D:D

Well, doesn't everybody keep 200 Euro in his swimming trunks just in case one gets washed up at a remote beach? :D

Lol.....guess where he spent his 200 Euro.....

Mama did not allow him to do this, so he had to be a bit creative :o

Are you sure this story doesn't belong in the joke section.

now she should (or her son) pay for the police operation involving hundreds hours of police work. Taking four days for a few kilometres taxi drive is a bit too long.

Stil no mention anywhere from what happened between 21 and 26 february. Can't imagine that he swam that far that it took the taxi 4 days to reach airport.

Did anyone check the original story and the photos of this guy and his mum?

Can't understand why he did this.

post-13995-1204376618_thumb.jpg Police: "What did your Mama say to you when you spoke to her, last time you saw her ?"

post-13995-1204376633_thumb.jpg Olaf: "She gave me € 200.-- and told me to go swimming as far as I could...."

:o

LaoPo

Ah, the mullet haircut. Pictures are worth 1000 words here.

Don't know why he went all the way to BKK, would fit right in most places in Pattaya.

Mum looks happy in the photos. :o
