I thought the guy in this clip was awesome, he might be the real thing since I heard Matt Dillon tried to use locals for this movie. Not sure who he really is, but in the clip he seems like the ideal isaan-expat- uncouth but philosophical at the same time. just my humble opinion. Apparently he lives near the Khmer border and helps his shifty friends get across if they can't do it legally, like Dillon's character. The first 70 seconds:
