Medical Chiang Mai

Hi all, new to Thailand and to this great forum.

My partner and i are heading to Chiang Mai. My partner needs medication for depression, insomnia, pain and anxiety.

Can anyone advise on buying these medicaions at a pharmacy, and if so, which pharmacy?

Or is it best to have consultation with doc? Does anyone know of good docs in Chiang Mai?

With the rapid xplosion of fake medications around the world can we be sure that the meds we are buying are brand or generic, and do the pharmacists have good knowledge of what they are prescribing?

Any other advice most welcome

There's a chain of pharmacies in Chiang Mai called Pharma care, they do not appear to sell counterfeit pharmaceuticals although many of the standalone smaller ones do - it's an endemic practice in Bangkok. In Chiang Mai try Chiang Mai Ram hospital for good quality health care.

You could also save a bundle and go to Special Medical Service Center at Maharaj Hospital, if you need drugs only available on prescription. Top rate specialists there for roughly half the price of Chiang Mai Ram. However, I do not know where in Chiang Mai you can get proper care for psychiatric disorders.
