Have You Ever..........

Featured Replies

Woken up still pissed from the night before, and in such a grouchy mood that you just keep posting inane <deleted> on every thread imaginable?

Today I have been discussing drug addicts, poor Americans, dead people, pizzas, songkran, etc, etc,

And I am now an expert in every field!! And you know when you are posting way too much when you get flood control messages. :o

Why do I do it?

BTW to the mods who are reading this, I think I have been suitably vague with my disrespectful diatribes, but I am fully expecting the dreaded PM window to pop up any minute.

Anyway, as I am rarely posting on forum 47 maybe I should tell you a little more about me (see just can't help myself).

Many people ask me about my nick, I am a huge rugby fan, and play a bit from time to time. The name comes from the English rugby anthem - Swing Low.......

For our colonial friends its a bit like American Football, but played by real men without helmets and shoulder pads, and we don't drag it out for 4 hours.

I'm 35, been here for 2 years now after retiring at the tender age of 33. Living with fiancee for the last 18 months - I am still refusing to get married until we have been together for at least 3 years, well you wouldn't do it back home would you? But everyone here seems to think that 6 months is a suitably long enough period before betrothal.

I have to say that I am getting a bit bored with having nothing to do now, I am looking for exciting jobs that will give me alot of time off. Looking into doing a commercial diver's course to work on the rigs - 4 weeks on 4 weeks off kind of thing, anyone have any experience of this? Would entail 4 months in the US doing the course at a cost of around $20k, but I reckon it would be interesting, although a little bit dangerous.

Bored yet? Sorry, the missus has gone to see her sister so I have nothing else to do!! :D

OK I'll bugger off now

I used to a long time ago and in a different forum (I've had more holidays from that one than I care to mention)

Thankfully, my crazy alcohol days here were short lived and during the time that I didn't have any internet access.

Can't help you on the diving thing, sorry.

Im not an alkie, honest! Only about once a week for me, although with the GP later, and me feeling as rough as I do, I may have to go out again this afternoon. :o

This is the usual scenario for a TV poster once they have reached 1000 posts.

1000 - 3000 in no time at all with 95% of content being inane drivel caused by boredom. :o (Notice that by this point you will have swapped a good proportion of your Tele time for the other TV :D )

Just make sure you don't go ripping new <deleted> for your fellow board members or push the envelope on the forum rules and you should survive to a healthy post count. :D

Speaking of pissed, last time I saw you, you were being escorted home by your partner. Expat of the year in the making. :D

There are a couple of very experienced commercial divers on the forum.

Ask a few questions in the diving forum (part of the sports and hobbies forum) and see who pops up.

In answer to your question "have you ever..." yes.

soundman pretty much hit that description on the head.

by the time you get to 10K posts, you start to settle down a bit.

nice to hear a bit more about a fellow member, SweetChariot.

I usually also only start to drink once a week. :o

Thanks OC, I will try that tomorrow - have to go out and find a hairy dog now, or something like that!

Really? When was that?

I think it was at the ThaiVisa Birthday party last year in Pattaya.

I, of course, remember nothing :o

I actually have no recolection(sp) of that night whatsoever!!

I was forced by my 'mate' to get really pissed until daylight the night before, and after 3 beers I was gone. Then George was on the mic every 5 minutes telling us how much beer we still had to drink.

Happy?? days. :o

That old saying, 'It must have been a great night, I can't remember a thing!' :o

Jeez Vegies, us colonials have got rugby too, y'know!

Jeez Vegies, us colonials have got rugby too, y'know!

Downunder, we're mad over....

Rugby, Racing and BEER....... :D ............... :o

Correct! Vegies saying that us colonials don't have rugby is just not cricket!

What about Cricket?

"Jimminy", I am fergitful.

Black Caps on a downer, but I still watch.

Cricket okay, but I like contact sport, not watching wimpish "Monkey" man grizzlers.

(Symonds and rest of Baggy Green guys. Put me orf now.)

Soccer, just plain boring, sitting yelling heads off for 90 minutes whilst 25 pansies run up and down a paddock and possibly score one goal, <deleted>.

Gimme a MANS game, contact, a bit of biffo, RUGBY UNION ...... yeaaaaaaaaaah.

What's soccer?

football if you're in a cicilised country! :D

22 pansies to be exact. Not reallly into it myself but will be watching the Euro Semi later with the wife who's a Liverpool supporter. Come on Liverpool! :o In an Irish bar in Liverpool city centre eating and drinking - it's a good excuse for a mid week piss-up - and no work tomorrow! Halleluyah!

A 'cicilised' country? Sounds like one big barmitzvah... :o
