Hello All

Can anyone recommend a Thai language school in Pattaya? Also, does anyone know what I must do to apply for an education visa since I intend to study full time (4 to 6 hours per day x 5 days a week). Thank you

for how long do you hope to study. The school would have to be good to make you eligible for a Non-Immigrant ED visa. You are more likely to get a Non-Immigrant O visa I think.

I hope to study for at least one full year, January 05 to December 05. Do you know of any schools in Pattaya to recommend? Thanks

It's all up to you, jaked, and I am sure you have good reasons for selecting Pattaya - but if you really wish to understand Thailand and the Thais and learn as much of the language as possible within that time (cultural sensitivity goes hand in hand with good language skills) I'd recommend you settle for a less farangized destination than Pattaya for your studies. No offense, just my two cents.

Thank you for your reply. Could you possibily make some other suggestions for school locations? I do not like Bangkok or ChiangMai because I don't like big cities. What attracts me to Pattaya is the beach combined with a cosmopolitan feel (as opposed to Phuket). I also think Pattaya has good amenties for foreigners such as restaurants, hospitals, and public transportation system. If you have any other ideas of places to study that is better than Pattaya I am open for suggestions. Thank you.

But it lacks the education facilities that you require.

There are a couple of Universities in Hua Hin. Websters is one.

A LOT better than Pattaya in my opinion. The King lives in Hua Hin a lot!

Don't get me started about Pattaya :D

I am sure Websters would be good if you are serious about learnign Thai. They could help you with the right visa too.

Attracted to Pattaya beach :D:D:o

Hua Hin is a great idea. I haven't been there for more than 10 years and I remember the town being a nice size and the beach was beautiful. I didn't know they had a Thai Language school there. Thanks for your help.
