sorry i'm not that good on the technical side of things ,

i've just bought another laptop ,how can i copy the likes of skype and yahoo messenger onto my new laptop without going to the internet and downloading them again (i've a really slow connection so its a pain )

is there a way of copying the program to a memory stick

If these programs were originally downloaded from the internet in a zip file and saved onto the hard drive before being extracted, you can copy the zip file onto another computer by using your memory stick.

You would need to find the folder into which the zip file might have been downloaded to.

Chances are high that both programs have been updated since your first installed and even if you do find the original file they will have to download again anyhow. I would just download - don't believe they are that large.

You can not just move folders and have them work on new computer (at least not most programs). So unless you have a habit of keeping downloaded files you probably will not have the installation file.
