Phuket Positive Posters Club

As I mentioned in a thread where a guy was just looking for basic taxi advice, I have high hopes that this forum is/can/will be a positive place for people to come and get advice without having to hear salty longterm disease member's try at humor.

Maybe we can all, once a week post a topic where we have experienced something in the past week, here in Phuket, and we can say "hey everybody, I went to this new show and it was cool, I recommend it" or "was at such and such place and the girls there are CUTE"! Or whatever........

For those of us that actually live here, post something you dealt with in the last week. For those that are sometime residents, post what you remember that you liked and maybe ask if it is the same.

What do you all say to being part of the solution, not part of the problem?

Readied for negativity, posted with positive vibe.

I for one, am enjoying low season. My beach (Nai Harn) is getting back to normal. It's now about half and half Thai/Farangs in the hour i go before sunset most nights. Traffic is much better, even some rain is welcomed and turning everything green again. (I had my longest jog of the year last week in the rain)

I do see it being tough on the Thai locals though as well as gas prices. Today, I was the only one in the motorbike line to fill up. Most put 40-50 baht in and probably come back everyday just to get to work. (sorry for the little bit of negativity there HB but it's sad but true)

No worries FH, fuel and food prices are on the rise.

I do my lunches in Chalong, maybe for a new thread, but anyone looking here, here are my haunts, I try to keep lunch in the 100thb range.

Fatties-nice chicken cheese burger salad and fries 95thb

The Family-epic chicken shwarma, killer spicy sauce 110 with a water

Dim Sum shop across from SCB Chalong-three dimsum steamers and a noodle soup with a water 99thb

Mikes Burgers-killer cheeseburger a little more expensive out the door about 160

The Central Festival food court- lotsa food, but the real deal is all the hot chicks walking around, cel number on a cutie, priceless.

Cheers !!!HB

i've found a quaint little new restaurant/bar in town near the bus station, across from the honda plaza and next to the acer shop. it's called "another bar" and most nights there are all sorts of talented musicians playing guitars, drums, accordions, etc. the atmosphere is mostly thai and the prices are cheap. it's a chill place and quickly becoming one of my faves.
