Dell Uk Offering Windows Xp Again

A few months back when I wanted to buy my Dell XPS laptop from the UK all they offered was Vista. As I didn't want that I got a US model instead with XP Home. Now I see they are offering them with XP professional I'm guessing I wasn't the only one calling them to ask if I could get the laptop with XP. Shows how unpopular Vista is.

Ive been running Vista Ultimate now for around 7-8months. Far better than XP. Never had a freeze or blue screen of death like XP. a lot faster with a lot nicer interface than XP and far easier handling of pics and music. Guess there are a lot of dinosaurs out there who want to stick with the old systems. There was even a guy wanting info on how to install W2000 not so long back. I know there are a lot of MS bashers but for me it was well worth the upgrade. WELL HAPPY :o

I agree Vista is not just better its by far better than XP, i do love the people that go 'Nah dont want Vista its crap" and probably just say it through here say, for all you XP people, you are going to have to upgrade soon if you still want a home computer, so you might as well do it now..

Actually for Gaming compared to XP Vista is crap....Gaming benchmarks are way down on Vista compared to XP on the same hardware.....

XP with SP3 is the way to go for a solid fast operating system - if you don't go down the MAC OS X route that is :o

I guess there is not a single gamer in this world that would consider going down the OSX route.

Dell has been offering XP for as long as I can remember, so nothing new here either.

Vista is the second best OS Microsoft has ever created, XP doesn't come close. Server 2008 is of course the best they have ever produced.

I have never had a freeze or blue screen of death with XP, the only operating system that did that to me was Windows ME. I like XP it has been rock solid and a very good OS for gaming.

Dell UK website stopped offering XP last year on my laptop, I phoned them and asked if I could special order a system with XP and they said no. Now they are offering it on their website again.
