May 15, 200817 yr On the grounds of being married to a Thai, 800000 bt bank statement (from country of origin bank) plus the required documents. On applying would i be issued with a 1 year extension of stay visa?
May 15, 200817 yr No. You must show 40k family income for a first extension of stay on the basis of family (marriage). If you are over age 50 and apply in your residence country that 800k might make a non immigrant OA visa available for a one year stay (with police report/medical).
May 15, 200817 yr Author From what i have read on the forum, applying for a new type `0` visa in other than your country of origin is not a certainty of success. Is KL and malaysia visa friendly? Anyone recently returned from these destinations with a type `O` visa?
May 15, 200817 yr If you are married to a Thai and have marriage certificate and copy of her ID card you should obtain a non immigrant O visa from any Consulate. At some your can obtain a one year multi entry visa. Both Penang and KL have been providing multi entry recently but there is no guarantee. Believe most successful applicants had some money in a Thai bank account they could show (although they might not have been asked).
