Hi Folks,

I'll be in Lamai shortly and plan to stay for about 12 days.

I am not sure yet in which hotel I gonna stay. There are quite a few to choose from. I defintely do not want to stay next to a construction area.

Does anyone have current information if and where major constructions are going on in Lamai?

In case I take a hotel w/o swimming pool, are there possibilities to use the pool in certain hotels (w/ or w/o fee)?

I already have a few places in mind: BT mansion, Lamai Inn 99, Hathai House? Any comments to these?

Thanks in advance and so long!

Hard to find somewhere with no construction near by. However, I would always recommend 'The Spa' either beach or village (there are 2). Both are great value, both have pools and both have really great food. The village is most likely not to have construction near by. Maybe someone else can expand.

I've stayed at both Lamai Inn & Hat Thai several times.

I'd say Hat Thai is definately the better of the 2.

PM me if you want to know more.

Hi,

I knew something is going in Lamai Inn since I got the information from the stuff that there is some construction going on near by. However, when I asked for details I did not get any response. Made me suspicious somehow!

To the Spa: I know this is quite a place to stay, especially the one at the beach. But there is also construction going on. Fair as the Spa management is, it has been announced on their website.

I'll gonna checkout BT mansion or Hathai.

Thanks so far!

There is a hotel being built about 100 metres from the Lamai Inn but the main building is finished. I noticed a bit of work some days in terms of noise but it was minimal and your only a short jump into the sea anyway. BT Mansion is half the price but no pool and a 10 min walk to the beach if that. It is nice though for what you pay and the staff are really good too. I found the staff at Lamai Inn were poor on service.

Non guests can use other pools but at the Lamai inn it was 100bt and I'm not sure if you had to be with another guest, but i saw other hotels that didn't charge but that was outside Lamai centre so not to sure on that.
