Has A Manager Ever Taken Responsibility

Featured Replies

Just read this article that quotes Dean Saunders and his time at Newcastle.

http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/newcastleu...stle.4147711.jp

It seems the 50 odd million pound he and Souness wasted on Owen 18 million, Boumsong 8 million, Luque 11 million, Emre 5 million, Faye 2 million, Parker 7 million, Babayaro 1 million IN 8 MONTHS, was actually down to the club being badly run as opposed to the management team buying crap players and being fcuken useless.

Now there are so many charlatans in football management, but can anyone name a manager that has ever taken FULL responsibility for the demise of a club/team as even managers like Mcclaren who was blatantly obviously at fault blamed failure on anyone and anything but himself.

PS im just jealous and bitter i dont get 5 million a year for failing.

Keving Keegan for England after the Germany Game where we lost 0-1 with Hammann scoring, he said " i'm just not good enough to do this job "..

Can't be any fairer than that.

Ruud Gullit walked away from newcastle and didnt take the compensation he could have got its a kind of acceptance.

One of the best managers in recent years, Brian Clough, said he was responsible for Nottingham Forest being relegated in his last season there. He said the manager (himself) just wasn't good enough to keep them up.

He was the best manager in recent years, no other manager could win the Champions League with a club the size of Forest. But he overstayed and was on the pop too much.

If only the fools at the FA had given him the England job we'd have definitely won somethng.

Steve Coppell blamed himself for Reading's relegation this year.

He said that if he had been at any other club he would have got the sack.

So yes it seems some DO take the blame
