Steele404 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Im trying to stream live BBC 5 radio thru the internet so I can listen to the euro 2008 live. Anyone know how this can be done? since the BBC official website blocks live stream outside the UK. If this is not possible or morally wrong, what other English-speaking stations you guys recommend?
thecatman Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I don't think it's possible to get any of the BBC air channels online. I think it's illegal to do so, I guess that's why it's blocked. You may be able to get other stations though as I can get Capital Radio through my internet, just a pity they aren't doing football commentry as these Thai guys are doing my head in
srs Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 You need a VPN service like swissvpn but for UK. I don't know if that is illegal. But even if you can manage to listen to the stream you are going to have difficulties in synchronizing audio and video. I tried it with a German radio commentary (which is by the way available everywhere). The audio is way too slow. I don't know why it is legal for a German radio station to broadcast the audio worldwide and for the British it is not. But I am pretty sure that you won't find another radio station in UK other than BBC to have the rights to do anything with the EURO 2008.
EastSaxCol Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I seriously cant stand the Thai commentaries of the Euro 2008!! I'd sooner listen to football commentaries in double-Dutch than be subject to Alan Green.

I listen to Radio 5 live quite often at work when doing reports etc for news shows etc.

I listened to their commentary for the opening game but the time lag was about 15 seconds and got real annoying.
