either you all have the same problem or isp here can control some common ports ...

check windows firewall, // connection/properties/advanced/ disable the firewall, the windows one is on by default.

but get yourself one, like ZoneAlarm :o

and change ports for p2p, forget the default ones .. 25000 or more

no have firewall i think the provider block port but run with Soulseek

Isn't Hinet a private IP service? Which should mean that you get IPs that are like 10.x.x.x, and many p2p programs don't like that setup, or will run with limited functionality.

You should tell us what p2p program you're using.

Last time I checked (a few months ago) they had most p2p ports blocked, so there is nothing you can do except change to another ISP. However, the port for the Gnutella network IS open, and it works most of the time...so you may want to try that.
