Dentist In Roi-et Or Mukdahan

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a tooth ache and have had it on and off for 6 months now. I have been to two dentists in Kalasin and one in Kuchinarai and none of them can find anything wrong. They say I have to go to a dentist in Khong Kaen, but that is two and a half hours away from me and that is a long way if I get into multiple appointments. I think I need a dentist that does root canal work, does anyone know of one in Roi-et or Mukdahan? Thanks a lot. Issangeorge

On the other hand, the dental clinic of the University in Khon Kaen can certainly help you!

Maybe that is why you were more or less "sent" to KK

Agree. It is rare that a Thai dentist will send customers away. I'd gratefully take his advice. Remember, you only get one set of real teeth.

I've heard excellent reports about the University.

I reside in Roi Et. About 1.5 years ago one of childhood fillings fell out (should have been replaced long ago). A dentist in Roi Et quickly replaced it with a temporary cement filling. He said I probably needed a root canal on that tooth and said I'd have to goto Koen Kaen for the treatment. From my experience a root canal (and crown) translates to 3-4 office visits. Anyway, about 2 months ago the tooth starting aching (infection) and I went to a different dentist in Roi Et and he wouldn't even look at it until the infection had cleared (he gave me antibiotics). He asked me if I wanted to have it pulled or if I wanted to save it. I asked if he did root canals and he said YES. I'm not sure how skilled he is (root canals in the US are referred to Endodontists as general practice dentists are not qualified), but I was told by locals that this particular dentist is the most educated in Roi Et (his English was also very good which perhaps is a sign of his education level). I'm not sure I'd risk it unless I was sure they were qualified and had good experience (university students probably know the latest techniques, but probably lack in experience). I've had 2 root canals in the past and they can abscess easily in between treatments and an abscess is extremely painful.

If you are interested in this particular Roi Et dentist I can stop by his office and collect his name/phone number.

danfred, I would really appreciate that. I could at least give him a call and hear what he says or drop in on him. Roi-et is only an hour from my home, compared to the two plus going to KK. A one time visit would be okay, but as you say it is usually three or four. Thanks again. Issangeorge.

I was planning on getting crown work done in Kalasin when in Thailand in August. What clinics did you try so I know where not to go.

My wife says long waiting time at K.K.University as it's a teaching facility.

Anyone have any recommendations

Staying in Somdet

Bob, I'm not sure what the clinic's name was, and I'm not sure they don't do root canal work, and I am sure they do crown work. The problem I have is the pain is in a tooth that is crowned and x-rays don't show any problems and the two dentists I have gone to can't find any problems and have told me to go to KK. I think maybe at KK they have better x-ray technology, or they can remove the crown, I'm not sure exactly what it is they can do that the other dentists can't. Issangeorge.

Hi

Them you must have had the pains when we met shortly in this restarant in Bua Khao 6 months ago.

I have had an old filling re-made in Roi-et. I have no complaints about it. The clinic was placed on the corner accross the street from the multiple-stored-plaza-shopping-mall-something. It's only opened a few hours from 12h00, and the dentist came from the hospital as far as I understood. Can the dentist there help you with your problem? - I am not sure.

Good luck, and please post the solution, when the problem is fixed.

Kalasin, i probably did, it has been bothering me on and off for a long time now. The last week or so it has been coming a lot more often, almost every 4-5 hours, today however it has stayed away. Issangeorge

My dentist told me that if the nerve is dead I would need a root canal , but if the nerve is alive I can get a crown. However if I get a crown and then later discover I should have got a root canal then they will have to drill through the enamel crown. Apparently not an easy job. Indeed if it is moern technology you need then K.K.U may be the place for you. Bob
