You kind of need to appear financially stable before you sell insurance. Would work much better if you co-branded with one of the "real" insurance companies.... as in, get rid of the TV part, and just keep the AXA, AIG, Allianz, etc. etc. part.

:o

Sorry, please let me explain. We are Insurance Brokers not an Insurance Company.

We therefore have the ‘pick’ of all the available insurance companies products – including the companies you mentioned.

For this reason we can offer the best advice and solutions to Thai Visa members.

Yeah, I knew that actually. It's a unique approach (I've mostly only seen brokers/sales folks promote the insurance company brand, not the broker/sales group 'brand'.... like the folks at the x million Baht turnover Diamond 10 group at AIA/AIG... just a footnote in their transactions in the contracts and premium receipts... they don't come right out and advertise as Diamond 10 Insurance, which I doubt many folks would buy), hope it works.

:D

I'm probably wrong, but I'd think that by getting insurance through Thaivisa Insurance I'm adding another middleman to the situation which would inevitably raise the price. Wouldn't I be better off just to approach the real insurance companies that TV Insurance uses (or other ones) directly and negotiate a price with them, thereby eliminating another profit seeking entity?

Unfortunately you do not understand the way Brokers work.

You pay no more by going via a Broker – so called ‘going direct’ saves no money.

What you do by going direct is doing away with a ‘friend and helper’ should you need to claim. If you go direct and there is a problem it’s just you V. the insurance company whereas if you use the services of a Broker they will help in a difficult situation.

By going direct you are only going to be introduced and sold that Companies products – Brokers have the choice of all the Insurance Companies products

To sum up, it makes no sense to try and deal directly with the Insurance Companies.

And I thought we could not advertise on this forum!!! One rule for us one rule for you?

As stated in the forum rules about sponsors promoting themselves, this case was a member promoting the benefits of a service from a sponsor which is also allowed.

8) All advice voluntarily given by any member in any of the fora which constitute thaivisa.com is provided free of charge, and it is not permitted to either solicit for, or accept, donations, gifts etc. for providing such advice to visitors and members. Likewise, it is not permitted to either steer, or promote, or solicit people to go to locations or businesses in which it is necessary to pay for services or assistance with the exception of thaivisa.com sponsors, who may reasonably promote themselves.

Several other off topic comments have been removed from this thread.

i want to thank the good people from thaivisasales for supporting this forum totally unselfishly and providing us members with the best advice about all their sponsors for free. this is no 'double standards', this is how capitalism is working. only 'communists' pretend that we are all equal and that they care for people. whoever believes that is not welcome here. i just wonder about that one poster fearing to loose his music. how can any insurance give that (and other personal stuff like pics) back to him. please explain!

I think that is a very valid point.

(Compare Sunbelt Asia's exemplary conduct on the Jobs, Economy Business branch - Chalk and Cheese comes to mind).

I'm about to renew my home insurance policy, (including contents), and really wonder whether it's worth it. I've insured for over 30 years, never claimed, never needed to. The obvious fear is fire or water damage, (I live in a condo), and I suppose it's like asking "how long is a piece of string", but I'm seriously wondering whether it's all a big con. Any views?

if you dont insure ,isnt it breaking the condo huilding rules?

Posted

The rules say the condo 'building' has to be insured for the rebuild cost e.g. should, in the unlikely event, an earthquake occurs and the building falls down the insurance will pay for the rebuilding. However this is only to the 'shell' state – just the concrete box of the condo.

It is the owners responsibility to insure there own 'units' not just against the usual perils but sensibly 3rd party liability – example if one of your pipes leaks under you floor and damaged the condo below the insurance will pay.

The premiums are low and ThaiVisa Insurance offers unique dedicated condo insurance.

Whatever you do. Do not use the services of Thai Health Insurance. It's a Thai company and they just released confidential information (I think by mistake) to each and every collaegue of mine at my place of workplace. Very unprofessional. :o

This is an interesting post so, on behalf of a Thai Visa member, I made a few inquiries.

I was not happy to hear about your personal information being sent to everyone as that is a 'no-no'. For your information I found out it was not Thai Health who sent the information to everyone but your own university ! Whoever is in charge of your group policy was unfortunately extremely irresponsible and distributed your private details to all – it is they who you should complain strongly to not Thai Health ...........

Apologies Thai health !

While I've been a regular critic of some of the cheesy techniques used to promote thaivisainsurance on this forum (new members posting carefully worded insurance enquiries etc) - and have had several posts deleted as a consequence :o I have to give credit where it's due.

I recently sought several quotes on renewing car insurance and the service and price from these guys was very competitive. Add to that the english language capabilities, and it was a compelling argument to buy.
