There are some new websites, about Isaan. They have a banner here in this forum. If you click, you will find one website. They are four. Anyone willing to promote his business, tell about hotels, restaurants that he likes, put information about activities, tourism, photos, is welcome.

Objective information. No cost to be there. We are several people from different cities that will try to make it as good as we can. I did most of the infos about Korat and some of Roiet...maybe not accurate because I was leaving there 4 years ago.

We can learn a lot about cities in Isaan, here or somewhere else. But we can't post links here...

These are not blogs, not a forum, and what to help the community, by giving information in English.

All work is volunteer... Information has to be moderate and I am not sure that we will be able to add EVERYTHING that people will send. But so far, we haven't received a lot of infos about people in Isaan, even if I asked many persons...

Although Namsom is not really a Tourist destination or a city, [about 7000 people] and a Travel to Teach town, would it be ok to do some pics of wifes beauty salon, the local temples, list the local resturants and BBQ pubs ect?

Do you know where is that? Send google earth links, address, pictures? Which city? Area...

We could include a buriram section in Surin. Sisaket in Ubon... I don't know.

I have a good idea where Namsom is, ive lived here for near 2 years, if you have a map of Thailand, it is 100ks north west of Udon Thani.

You can also Google Namsom, http://www.namsom.net/index.html and there are many other sites related to Namsom,

Perhaps you only want to do big cities, but isnt that going away from the real Thai culture?

There is a website in udon... and we can't modified that one. I don't know the owner.

Main goal here is developping the other parts, surin, roiet, ubon, korat... Khon Kaen and Udon are quite well equipped with websites and guides.

I tried to contact the guy for Udon...he replied. But I don't believe he was interested in creating links with us. I believe people pay for advertising there. But he has a GREAT site. With help and few weeks, I believe we can achieve something cool. I took pictures of some hotels and restaurant in Surin last weekend and already uploaded them. But this week, I am quite busy. Next week, I will try to do more.

Many cities in Isaan still have no proper guide books in English, and many tourists (and locals) have difficulties mowing around.

Why don't we who live here help to improve this?

We received some emails...not a lot. We uploaded maps of buriram on the surin website.

We started the restaurants and nightclubs in Surin...But we will need more assistance!

The one in Korat is almost completed.

A guy works on Ubon, another one in Roiet and I will help also for Roiet.

It will take a while to be perfect or better. In Udon, they did a great job.

These websites are not selling advertisement.

I tried to approach few people BEFORE doing the project and most of them very not interested, lazy.

Now that there is a link on this forum, many people want their bars, restaurants, car rentals or anything there!! Let's go... send information!!!!!
