Planning to spend 9 months in thailand

Featured Replies

I'm a 26 yr old Canadian who will be moving to Thailand in October.  My girlfriend is living in Thailand on a work Visa, and I am looking to come and spend 9 months living with her while she works.

The requirement of having an outbound plane ticket is concerning me - I was planning to purchase an open-ended ticket and having this as my proof of leaving the country, however does this require getting a 60 day tourist Visa each time I need to leave the country?  I'm worried about running into the situation the gentleman from the UK ran into in the Phillipines (getting denied a Visa due to too many 60-days issued in one year).

Thanks for the help...

Normally the only concern for the outbound air ticket is the airline and if you have a visa it is not a problem.  Just obtain a tourist visa before you come.  If you can not obtain a two or three entry tourist visa do not expect you will have any problem getting a new visa in Malaysia.

I have a question....

I'm a Filipino whose currently living in Bangkok with Non-Immigrant-ED visa(but will expire early next month).

I would like to get a Thai tourist visa (90 day)  in Singapore. Do I need to show an outbound ticket to prove that I'll be leaving Thailand after 3 months? Or is it okay if I just show some documents (my mother works in Bangkok with work permit and I have an aunt--Thai nationality) to show the purpose of my visit--to vist relatives?

Please help..... Thanks

You should call the Thai Embassy in Singapore first. I am afraid they no longer deliver any 90-day (or longer) Visa for Thailand. :o

I feel very sorry to say that too, but there are chances also that being a filipino won t really help you there :D

Why don t you consider Penang instead?
