exjerseyboy Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Hi Everyone, I have been issued an OA Visa in the US for a three month period. As I understand it, I will have to renew every three months at an Imigration Office in Thailand, and will not have to produce more evidence of income, deposits, etc. Can someone confirm ths for me. I will be living in Hua Hin and need to know where closest office is. Thanks for any help
lopburi3 Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 A visa is issued to allow entry into Thailand. So I assume you have provided a consulate with proof that you intend to apply for a retirement extension of this visa once you are here in Thailand; and do so each year with proof of income and bank account? I suspect you will indeed have to prove your case here at immigration after you are here between 60 and 90 days (time to set up bank account here) and each year thereafter. Didn't the consulate provide you information on what is required? I don't want to guess wrong but I know you will not be going to immigration every 90 days to renew your visa. But if you extend your stay you will have to report address every 90 days if you don't leave the country.
