Extension Of "o" Category Visa

Featured Replies

I'm new to the forum, so sorry if these questions are kind of basic. I have a one year "O" category visa, multiple entries allowed, in my US passport. This visa will expire in three weeks. To get an extension for a year, do I fill out the form TM 7, Application for extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom, and what additional papers/forms do I need to bring along? I will be going to the Immigration Office at Suan Phlu in Bangkok. Also, the visa states: "Extension of stay not permitted." Is that hard and fast, or does it just mean I have to fill out the extension request before the visa expires?

Thanks,

OC

It would help to know on what basis you want to extend your stay (retirement/marriage/work). If you have a valid reason for extension I don't believe you have to worry about the "Extension of stay not permitted" on the visa.

And by the way, questions like this would be better answered if posted in the "Thai visas" forum.
